David Reynaud Wines & Cases
The Reynaud family had been respected grape growers for several decades before David, grandson of founder Georges, began producing their own wines in 2003. Within two years the vineyards on the terraces above the Rhone were completely bio-dynamic. The organically grown fruit produces wines of astonishing intensity and depth which have many dedicated followers and we are proud to feature them here at the Fine Wine Company.
The well drained soils, organic farming methods and attention to detail at David Reynaud produce astounding results year after year and wines which are rapidly gathering an impressive reputation. The grapes are hand-picked, hand-sorted and gravity lowered to preserve the integrity of flavour which we are sure you will adore.
Do not miss the Crozes Hermitage David Reynaud 2012. With a lush deep red colour this Syrah boasts a fresh nose with scents of cassis and cherry. The full, smooth textured palate offers notes of black pepper and bramble fruit alongside the spiciness of barrel ageing and the finish is long with juicy berry highlights.
Another exceptional wine worth exploring is the David Reynaud Crozes Hermitage Les Croix 2011. The nose has cassis, pepper, cocoa and cinnamon spice notes. The palate is amazingly full and intense without being too heavy and there is an extraordinary depth of flavour featuring berry fruit, vanilla and spice. This is a finely balanced wine with a satisfying and long finish with fresh acidity.
The David Reynaud Crozes Hermitage Blanc Aux Betises 2012 has an inviting bright yellow colour with golden hues. The wonderfully fresh nose is perfumed with honeysuckle and almonds and the full bodied palate is smooth with cooked apples and the subtle spice of barrel ageing. The long finish is lightly acidic producing a highly refreshing experience.
One wonders why it took the Reynaud family so long to produce their own wines when the results have been so impressive. We are sure you will be impressed and back for more in the near future!
